Monthly Survey (a little early)

My sister and her boyfriend are coming to visit this week so I doubt I'll have time to post anything so I'm going to do this now before I forget. Plus my computer decided to never turn on again last week and hubby is getting upset because I'm always on his. He never says he's upset, just keeps asking every 5 minutes in the sweetest voice, "Are you done yet?" Bless him. He's such a sweetie!

How far along?
17 weeks 2 days
Total weight gain/loss: 6 lbs. but I can guarantee it's all baby and boobs
Maternity clothes? The full panel pants are still way too big. They won't stay up. I wear the shorts, tops and bathing suit. I can still wear my old clothes, I just like the looser fit of the maternity stuff.
Sleep: It's OK I guess. I never was good at keeping a sleep schedule. I get at least 8-10 hours a day... it's just not always the same each night.
Best moment this week: Finished my classes for the summer ::does a little dance::
Movement: Just quickenings
Food cravings: Cold food. Like fruit and salad. I've been wanting potato salad all day!
Gender: We'll find out in 2 1/2 weeks ::does another dance::
Labor Signs: Don't even want to think about it
Belly Button in or out? In and still pierced
Stretchmarks? Nope
What I am looking forward to: August 21st. Dean will be done working OCS
Weekly Wisdom: When it's 110 degrees outside, stay inside!
Milestones: Two year anniversary next week

BeanBoozled

In WIlliamsburg we found a candy we used to use for a drinking game with our friend Ben. The candy is Jelly Belly's BeanBoozled. The concept of the candy is 10 colored beans. Each color has 2 flavors. One is a normal flavor of there's and the other is a gross flavor. An example is: if you get a green one it could be juicy pear or booger. It's impossible to know which one you are getting because they have no smell and the bad ones look like the good ones. Below is a video I took of Dean being the guinea pig.

Vacation to Williamsburg

We went away this weekend for our two anniversary, which is actually July 5th. Dean has to work next Saturday so we took advantage of the time we had and took off Saturday morning. Williamsburg is only 2 hours south of us (without traffic). It took us about 2 1/2 hours to get there. We dropped off Killer at the hotel, changed into comfortable shoes and headed for the visitors center to get our tickets. I was going to buy them online but I didn't know if they gave a military discount (I ask everywhere we go). Thankfully they did. I very good discount... FREE! You can walk around Williamsburg for free and visit the shops but if you want to tour the historical sights you have to get a pass. Also the don't allow you to drive in the town so you either walk or get the pass which includes a shuttle. I had breakfast before we left but it was past lunchtime when we got to the Governors Palace. Let's just say between the 110 degree weather and low blood sugar I barely made it through the 30 minute tour conscious. We ate after and I was fine.

They have fun things planned throughout the year. While we were there, the red coats (the Britsh soldiers for those of you who don't know your Revolutionary War history) were occupying the town. If they captured you, you had to say "Queen Charlotte" for them to release you. Luckily we weren't captured.

Overall it was a good time. Dean would like to go back a couple more times this year and hopefully take the baby there too next summer.

Biggest Scare of my Life

I had my 2nd of many prenatal visits today. Dean couldn't get off work to go so I made this trip North by myself. I have a really nice nurse practitioner named Mrs. Roohr. Because we have wonderful government/military, I don't get to see a doctor unless I'm dying and oh here's the kicker: I'll meet the doctor that will deliver my baby for the first time, the day I deliver. I wasn't supposed to get an ultrasound this appointment, it was just for me to get weighed and listen to the baby on the Doppler. I laid back on the the table was ready to hear my baby but all I heard was a gargling sound but I thought it was the bacon, egg, and cheese bagel from McDonald's I scarfed down in the car right before I went in. (Side note: McDonald's breakfast is my weakness.) I was kind of scared when I didn't hear anything for a good minute. Then she asked me the scary question, "Have you had any cramping or bleeding?" There was only one reason I thought she would be asking that question, maybe I had lost the baby. After about 10 seconds of silent panic she asking if I could hear the bubbling noise. It turns out the baby was swimming away from the Doppler and that was the noise I heard in the beginning. She took me to the ultrasound room to do a quick scan to get a fetal heartbeat count. I was so happy to my my little peanut squirming around on the screen. Mrs. Roohr still had trouble catching the little bugger then, but after about 6 tries we finally count a count: 150 bpm! She said that's really good and it's good that the baby is active.
she also said I need to gain a few more pounds before my next visit, like I really need a reason to eat more food. My next appointment is July 19th and we'll find out the sex then... any predictions?

OMG SHUT UP!!!

Why can't I go out back and pick money off the tree out there? I wish I had all the money in the world so I could buy all these cool things they have for kids these days. Speaking of awesomely amazing baby things, I am in love love LLOOVVEE... with this:
It
's a cool stroller from Taga that just flips over and wham, bam, thank you ma'am you have a bicycle. You could ride the bike to the store, then push the baby in the stroller when you get there, and ride the bike home. The only problem is, it cost an arm and a leg. It has a whopping cost of $1,495!
We are now accepting donations.

Officially into my 2nd Trimester

YEAH!!! I'm officially into my 2nd trimester. Good-bye nausea! So long headaches! See you never morning sickness! Well technically I never threw up but sometimes I think I would have felt better if I did. There have been a lot of physical differences. I've really "popped" out in the last couple of weeks. I'm finally starting to feel pregnant. Dean is so excited I have a baby belly now. Every morning before he leaves he kisses me and his baby. It's so sweet how excited he is about this. Today he sent me a text message that said, "I'm looking forward to raising our child with you." Needless to say I bawled like a little baby or in this case a hormonal pregnant woman. I can't wait to meet my baby. Dean says he gets to hold him or her first though because I got to the first 9 months.
